Colbie Young Impresses Against The Bears

Cincinnati Bengals fourth-round pick Colbie Young continues to push for playing time.

After an impressive camp and first preseason game, Young led the way for the Bengals in preseason game two. He finished his night with three receptions, 48 yards, and the Bengals’ first touchdown of the night.

Colbie has been a standout performer with contested catches, smooth route running, and elite size and speed for an outside wide receiver.

It is important to note that Andrei Iosivas didn’t play Saturday, which means he is penciled in as the starting slot wide receiver to begin the season. I do think Young will push him for snaps throughout the season.

On the touchdown to Young, he beat his man off the line with speed, catching the pass in the end zone. He consistently beats his man off the line and showcases excellent speed for a player who is listed at 6’5” tall.

I wasn’t initially thrilled with Young’s selection. There were some off-field concerns, but his former Georgia teammate Dylan Fairchild immediately vouched for his character after being drafted with the last pick of the fourth round. Young has done nothing but impress on the field for the Bengals.
