Commanders Lb Leo Chenal Carted Off On Backboard After Sustaining Neck Injury

In a scary moment, Washington Commanders linebacker Leo Chenal was carted off of the field in Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. The Commanders later ruled him out with a neck injury.

Chenal appeared to take a knee to the head during the second quarter, leading to him going down. He was tended to by staff for a while, before being loaded onto a backboard and carted off into the locker room. The entire team gathered around him while he was on the ground.

As Chenal was taken into the locker room, the Washington crowd chanted Chenal’s name. Chenal could be seen moving his arms and legs while on the cart.

Chenal, a fifth-year linebacker, is in his first season with the Commanders. He’s played in all three games this season as a second-string linebacker; prior to leaving Sunday’s game, he had three tackles, including two solo.
