Cowboys Add Renowned Pass Rush Specialist Coach Bt Jordan
The Cowboys finalized their coaching staff just a few days ago, capping off the new defensive staff under Christian Parker. At least we thought they were done. Instead, they had one more name to add on Tuesday when they announced BT Jordan as their new pass rush specialist.
One more addition to Cowboys’ staff: BT Jordan has been hired as a pass rush specialist consultant, per source. He spent the last two years with Denver and was with Seattle before that. Renowned for his work with DL over the years and has a past with Kenny Clark.

Jordan has been one of the hottest names in the personal coaching world for the past decade-plus. He founded Trench Performance, a private company specializing in training defensive linemen. Through Trench Performance, Jordan has worked with a long list of current NFL players that includes Micah Parsons, Maxx Crosby, Von Miller, Myles Garrett, Abdul Carter, Nolan Smith, and Danielle Hunter. Notably, he’s also worked with pending free agents Boye Mafe and Bradley Chubb.
Jordan also broke into the coaching ranks, spending the 2021 season with the Cardinals as part of the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. There, he worked under defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. Not long after that fellowship, he was hired as a pass rush specialist at Michigan State, where CBS Sports wrote an in-depth profile of his coaching journey.
After one season with the Spartans, Jordan left for the same role with the Seahawks in what proved to be Pete Carroll’s final season in Seattle. After the coaching change, Jordan found his way to Denver as a pass rush consultant, allowing him to reunite with Joseph while still having time to spend on Trench Performance.
Now, Jordan comes to Dallas as the pass rush specialist. He’ll inherit a young edge rusher in Donovan Ezeiruaku, and may get another, as the Cowboys are widely expected to draft the position early. His track record of developing young players is hard to argue with.

Jordan’s hire is going to be significant in helping rebuild this defense under Parker’s watch. The Cowboys already hired Chidera Uzo-Diribe away from Georgia to coach outside linebackers, and defensive line coach Marcus Dixon helped oversee one of the league’s most formidable pass rushes the last two years with the Vikings.
With Jordan also in that locker room now, the Cowboys have the equivalent of a doctoral graduate in pass rushing. Dixon and Uzo-Diribe will be able to contribute to the pass rush scheme, and Jordan can hone the players’ actual pass rush skills to make them into the best versions of themselves. This hire has the ability to be a home run in the grand scheme of things.
