Cowboys Fans Decide How Much Caleb Downs Should Play On Saturday
It’s almost here. The first Dallas Cowboys preseason game of the 2026 NFL season will take place on Saturday night when the team battles the Seattle Seahawks. Even though it’s not real football, it is a very close approximation.
Given that it is not real football, many clubs hold out their stars from playing the game. No Dak Prescott, no CeeDee Lamb, you get the picture. But what about a player who we think is a star, but just hasn’t had a chance to show it yet. How much should he play?
That is the question we asked you earlier this week about stud rookie Caleb Downs. Just how should the Cowboys treat this preternaturally composed and knowledgeable rookie? How much should he play in the first preseason game.
In between the time we asked and the time of these results, the Cowboys announced he will play, they just haven’t decided how much yet.
What did you guys decide? 40% of respondents said play him for two series. Another 28% said three or more series for Downs. At the other end of the spectrum, 16% said don’t play him at all.
On Saturday, we’ll get to see the answer.
