Dallas Cowboys Release First Unofficial Depth Chart Of Season

We officially have our first unofficial depth chart of this Dallas Cowboys season.

As the preseason begins this week across the entire NFL, teams are required to submit depth charts. These are, as noted, unofficial and should not be treated with any high level of seriousness.

Here is what the Cowboys have offered.

To be honest, there aren’t any real strong takeaways to have. Everything is pretty chalk.

Offensively the Cowboys look exactly how they did last year from a starters standpoint. It is mildly interesting that rookie Drew Shelton is listed at backup right tackle, but Nate Thomas is the swing.

On the defensive side of the ball we see the new-look version of the team’s defensive tackles holding court. Donovan Ezeiruaku and Rashan Gary are Christian Parker’s outside linebackers while DeMarvion Overshown is holding things down in the middle.

The most interesting takeaway here is probably that Caleb Downs is listed at the nickel spot as well as backing up Jalen Thompson at true safety. Obviously he is going to move around a bit.
