San Francisco 49ers standout rookie receiver De’Zhaun Stribling will reportedly miss at least a month due to an ankle injury, according to NFL Network.

Stribling, 23, sustained the injury during the team’s Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Australia. He had to leave the contest in the second quarter due to a non-contact injury. He did not register any catches during the victory.

While Stribling will miss at least a month, it’s possible the injury could require surgery, which would keep him out longer.

When he first sustained the issue, there was some concern Stribling may have injured his Achilles. After the contest, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that was not the case, opening the door for Stribling to potentially return to play in 2026.

Stribling, who was selected by the 49ers with the first pick in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, was one of the biggest offseason risers among rookies. He received rave reviews from the team and from reporters during training camp, and appeared to be in line for a significant role in Shanahan’s offense.

His opportunity didn’t last long, as Stribling initially left Week 1 in the first quarter due to an ankle injury. He was able to return to the game briefly before apparently re-injuring the issue. He was carted to the locker room just before halftime.

Prior to joining the 49ers, Stribling had a standout senior season at Ole Miss. In his final year in college, Stribling hauled in 55 catches for 811 yards and six touchdowns.
