This is not surprising, but Derrick Henry said yesterday that the Tennessee Titans didn’t make an effort to re-sign him after the 2023 season:

Look, there is an alternate universe where Mike Vrabel doesn’t get fired, and he pushes Ran Carthon/Amy Adams Strunk to try to bring Henry back. I’m not sure Henry even wanted to re-sign here. He knew what the next couple of years were going to be like, and he wanted to go chase a ring. I don’t blame him for that.

It has worked out really well for him. He’s been on a perennial playoff team and has solidified his case for the Hall of Fame. Henry even has an outside chance at breaking Emmitt Smith’s career rushing record.

It’s been weird seeing Henry in a Ravens’ uniform. It will be even weirder watching him carry the ball against the Titans this week, but that’s how life goes for most NFL players. I love King Henry and will always be thankful for what he did for the Titans, but I hope he has 10 carries for 25 yards on Sunday.
