With just one more preseason game on the Miami Dolphins’ schedule, the team is ramping up practice in Miami Gardens. For rookie receiver Chris Bell, that meant shedding the red, non-contact jersey he had been wearing since returning from injury last week.

Last November, while playing in his final season in college with Louisville, Bell tore his ACL and was shelved for the rest of the year. The injury caused the player, who once was thought of as a late first-round pick, to slide all the way to the third-round of the 2026 NFL Draft. That’s when new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan pounced, knowing it may take some time for Bell to get healthy enough to contribute to Miami’s offense.

Apparently, Bell’s recovery has gone well enough for him to be practicing in full ahead of the Dolphins’ final preseason clash taking place this Friday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Bell joins an unproven wide receiver room that includes two other rookies — third-round pick Caleb Douglas from Texas Tech and fifth-round pick Kevin Coleman Jr., most recently from Missouri. If Bell can quickly get himself into game shape, he could make an impact for Miami early on in his professional career.

We will continue to keep you updated on all things Miami Dolphins as the team concludes their preseason this weekend.
