Eagles injury update: DeVonta Smith among those ruled out vs. Giants originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Eagles won’t have DeVonta Smith (hamstring) back on the field until at least Week 11 after the bye week.

Smith is among the six Eagles who have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Giants after missing practice all week.

Interestingly, quarterback Tanner McKee (rib), who was benched earlier this week in favor of Joe Milton, is officially questionable going into the weekend.

Here’s the full injury report from Friday afternoon:

Out: WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), WR Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), LB Jihaad Campbell (hamstring/quad), WR Britain Covey (knee), DB Michael Carter II (abdomen), CB Jonathan Jones (hamstring)

Questionable: QB Tanner McKee (rib)

While the Eagles will be without several key players, Saquon Barkley (hamstring/back) was not given a game status and is expected to play against his former club. Barkley missed the first day of practice this week but returned for Thursday and Friday as a limited participant.

If McKee is inactive on Sunday, the Eagles would be down to just two quarterbacks: Milton and third-string rookie Cole Payton.

Both Smith (hamstring) and Wicks (ankle) will miss their third consecutive games on Sunday. That means that Milton will go into his first NFL start with Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper, Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore as his receivers.

This will be the second straight missed game for Campbell (hamstring/quad), which means Jeremiah Trotter Jr. will start and play all game next to Zack Baun in the Eagles’ defense. Trotter has been solid this season.

Without Covey (knee) last week, the Eagles turned to Cooper DeJean as their punt returner. They also have Lemon as a possible option.
