Eagles Reportedly Bring Back Defensive Tackle On The Practice Squad
Back from London, the Eagles will need to make several roster moves this week to account for injuries and significant depth issues. One of the first spots to be filled is on the practice squad, with the team re-signing interior defensive lineman Zion Wilson.

Wilson was with the Eagles for some of the summer, signing as an undrafted free agent in June 2026 after playing his collegiate career at Eastern Carolina University. He tried to play one more season for the University of Virginia, but the NCAA denied his waiver for additional eligibility.
Here’s what BGN’s Brandon Lee Gowton had to say about Wilson several months ago:
“The 6-3, 316 pound Wilson originally played offensive line for ECU with his first game action being a mere three snaps at right guard in 2023. He transitioned to defensive tackle in 2024, where he logged 13 snaps, in addition to playing an occasional fullback role. Wilson finally became a full-time player in 2025, producing 42 total tackles, 10 TFLs, seven sacks, and one pass deflection in 454 defensive snaps played.
Wilson might’ve become a draftable player had he been able to play for Virginia this upcoming season. Instead, he joins Eagles in an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster. Making the practice squad would be a good outcome for him so that he gets more time to develop.“
It took a few months for Wilson to get a spot on the practice squad, but he’ll give the Eagles a fresh option.
