Eagles Trade Two-time Pro Bowler Cam Jurgens To Ravens In Latest Line Shake-up
Two aspiring NFL playoff contenders swung a trade on Wednesday, Oct. 7, to reshape their shaky offensive fronts.
The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to send two-time Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick, the Ravens announced.
Jurgens landed in the NFL's concussion protocol after the loss to the Rams, leaving him unlikely to make his debut for the Ravens in a "Sunday Night Football" showdown against the Atlanta Falcons.
A second-round pick out of Nebraska in 2022, Jurgens, 27, is under contract through 2029 after signing a four-year, $68 million contract extension in 2025.
What Jurgens trade means for Ravens
Jurgens helps fill a void on the interior for the Ravens, who lost three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. With initial replacements Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocci sidelined with long-term injuries, the Ravens shifted first-round pick Vega Ioane, who was drafted as a guard, to center in a Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans.
“We are excited to acquire a two-time Pro Bowl center, Cam Jurgens, from the Eagles in a trade,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Cam is a player we have long admired going all the way back to the draft process. He’s a young foundational piece along our offensive line – a great scheme and cultural fit who will contribute quickly in Baltimore. We are confident that Cam will significantly impact our team and community.”
What Jurgens trade means for Eagles
Jurgens succeeded Jason Kelce in Philadelphia but also shifted to left guard this season in light of offensive guard Landon Dickerson landing on injured reserve after Week 1.
The shift has come with its fair share of turbulence. Jurgens was credited by Pro Football Focus with having allowed five pressures in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Despite that, coach Nick Sirianni stood by him on Monday.
"I'm pleased with where Cam is. There's gonna be plays he wants back, but there's good moments also," Sirianni said in a news conference. "... Cam is definitely doing good things. Like us all, have to be more consistent as well."
The deal comes one day after linchpin right tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement. With famed coach Jeff Stoutland having departed this offseason, the Eagles' front has now seen another drastic departure from its Super Bowl 59-winning core.

With Jurgens gone, backup Willie Lampkin is poised to slide in at left guard as Dickerson remains out while Drew Kendall continues to start at center.
