The Eagles made the signing of Brandon George official on Saturday — just hours prior to their first preseason game — and to make room for the newest linebacker, announced they were releasing undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver Brandon Hayes.

Hayes faced a really stacked WR room in Philadelphia, and was unfortunately the first one out. He first signed with the Eagles back in May, but was released in June. When the team had an open roster spot, however, they re-signed Hayes early in August. He’s someone who could bounce on-and-off the roster over the next few weeks, and could eventually land on the team’s practice squad after they make final cuts later this month.

The Eagles still have DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, Dontayvion Wicks, Darius Cooper, and Johnny Wilson — although Smith, Lemon have been dealing with hamstring injuries that sidelined both of them for most of training camp.
