The fitness technology company says the changes give members a more precise, science-backed way to track and improve their healthspan

EGYM has launched a major update to its BioAge tool alongside a new Longevity training program, rolling both out alongside its new EGYM Smart Strength Series 3 equipment.

The updated BioAge draws on data from millions of real training sessions across EGYM’s global network, combined with recent sports science research, to refine its four core categories: strength, cardio, metabolism and flexibility.

Strength benchmarks now pull from EGYM’s largest dataset of real strength training sessions, cardio calculations prioritize age-related VO2max classifications, metabolism assessments now treat skeletal muscle mass as a core parameter, and flexibility testing incorporates new age-related group benchmarks.

Members won’t need to do anything to get the update — EGYM says previous BioAge trends and progress data will remain accessible, and members will automatically receive their new, more precise reference values at their next assessment or strength test.

“The fitness industry has been talking about longevity for years. With the new BioAge data, we are making healthy aging visible and comprehensible for millions of people in a more concrete way,” EGYM senior principal product manager Florian Eibl said. “The combination of real training data, modern sports science, and intelligent age-referencing creates a significantly more precise picture of long-term physical performance. This not only motivates members in the short term, but also supports sustainable behavioral changes over many years.”

Alongside the BioAge update, EGYM introduced an entirely new Longevity training program, built by reviewing its existing training concepts against current research on aging and training science.

The program is designed to help members preserve muscle mass, bone density, mobility and cardiovascular performance. It’s available as a new goal through EGYM Genius AI, with specialized Longevity programming built for both Smart Strength and Smart Cardio equipment.

“Healthy aging is not achieved through a singular training goal — it is the outcome of an intelligent balance of various physical capabilities,” Eibl said. “That’s precisely why our Longevity program combines strength, endurance, and mobility in one scientifically sound overall concept. Members thus receive a clear and practical way to actively extend their healthspan.”
