Fantasy Football Week 1 Cheat Sheet, Ppr Rankings, Sleepers, Injuries To Watch

Fantasy football managers, the wait is over. Week 1 is officially here.

The season got rolling Wednesday, Sept. 9 with the Seahawks taking down the Patriots, but there’s plenty more fantasy action ahead. With the remaining 30 teams set to take the field this week, it’s time to finalize those lineups and make the all-important first-week decisions.

Who belongs in your starting lineup? Which players are worth trusting right out of the gate? And who could be poised for a Week 1 breakout?

Our Week 1 fantasy football rankings are here to help you answer those questions. Rankings are based on PPR scoring, the format used by many seasonal and daily fantasy leagues. Players receive one point per reception, one point for every 10 rushing or receiving yards, one point for every 20 passing yards, six points for rushing, receiving and return touchdowns, and four points for passing touchdowns.

With injuries, matchups and changing roles all potentially impacting your lineup, these are the rankings and injury updates you need to know before kickoff.

  • Patrick Mahomes (knee) practiced in full on Thursday and is lined up to play against the Broncos on Monday night. If Mahomes can't go, veteran Justin Fields would take over.
  • Tua Tagovailoa suffered an oblique injury in practice on Thursday, putting his Week 1 status in doubt. Cooper Rush is his backup.

Fantasy football Week 1 running back rankings

  • Ashton Jeanty (ankle) is expected to play Week 1 after he suffered an ankle injury during an August practice. His role could be limited.
  • Jonathan Brooks (groin) has an injury designation as of Thursday after logging limited practices. Chuba Hubbard would handle the lion's share of work if Brooks misses Week 1.
  • Keaton Mitchell (hamstring): The Chargers RB2 continues to practice in a limited capacity, putting his Week 1 status in doubt.
  • Jeremiyah Love (ankle) is working his way back from a high ankle sprain and logged limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. If he suits up for Week 1, he's expected to share work with Tyler Allgeier.
