Former Titans Qb Will Levis Reportedly Landing On Jets' Practice Squad

Will Levis is joining the New York Jets as a member of their practice squad, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday for The Ringer and Netflix.

The Tennessee Titans waived Levis before the start of the season. He will now take the place of quarterback Bailey Zappe, whom the Jets are releasing, per Pelissero.

At the moment, New York has only two QBs on its 53-man roster: starter Geno Smith and backup Cade Klubnik, the latter of whom is a fourth-round pick the Jets selected this year out of Clemson.

Levis is a 2023 second-round pick. The Titans took a chance on the Kentucky product after his infamous green-room stay, during which he slid out of the first round of that year's draft. He wound up starting 21 games for the Titans but posted a 5-16 record in the process and hasn't seen regular-season action since the 2024 campaign.

The 27-year-old Levis missed the 2025 season after undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder to address an issue he dealt with as the Titans' starter in 2024. With recurring pain and the writing on the wall that 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward was getting the keys to Tennessee's offense, Levis opted to prioritize his long-term health.

Upon returning to full strength, he unabashedly voiced this offseason that he “100%” believes he can be a starter in the NFL again.

"There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me. I know that for sure," Levis said during training camp.

Under the leadership of new head coach Robert Saleh and new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, the Titans seemed to evaluate Levis much differently. They kept veteran Mitchell Trubisky as their backup to Ward and let Levis go.

Levis' arm talent made him an intriguing NFL prospect, except his decision-making plagued him during his brief run as the Titans' QB1.

Across his 12 starts during the 2024 season, he posted a 13:12 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Although he flashed encouraging moments, his meme-worthyturnovers marred his tenure.

He's poised for a clean slate in New York; however, he still has a long road back to being an NFL starter.
