Friday Night College Football Game Thread (8/28/26)

Between the college football games and Nebraska Volleyball’s trip down to Texas, last night was a fun start to the college sports season.

Tonight we have another fun filled FCS listing for your pleasure. At first glance, William & Mary at Villanova should be a fun matchup with two fairly decent teams. Villanova is coming off a season where they made it to the FCS semifinals where they fell to FCS runner-up Illinois State. The Tribe should put up a decent enough of a fight to make a game out of it. Though, the Wildcats are favored by 10.5 points so it could turn into a solid win for them.

Personally, I’ll be glued to the TV at 8pm to watch Northern Colorado Take on Weber State for the first game under the lights in Greeley, Co since the 1930’s. Yes, the Bears are the last FCS team to get stadium lights. No, I have no clue why it took this long to get them. Even the most desolate small town high school in America has lights.

I digress…

Weber has a new coach that is hoping to bring them back to a power in the Big Sky Conference while UNC is in their 4th season under coach Ed Lambs rebuild. A rebuild that has seen progress over the past two years. Either way, it should be a good game.

For those of you who have zero interest, don’t fret. FBS comes back tomorrow starting with North Carolina taking on TCU in Ireland. Let’s see if coach Belichick has done anything to improve the Tar Heels from last season.
