Giant Lose Starting Lb Tremaine Edmunds For Rest Of Season To Shoulder Injury

The injury-riddled Giants have taken another big blow.

Starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, according to Dan Duggan of the Athletic.

New York is, of course, already without QB Jaxson Dart and OLB Brian Burns for the year as well.

Now having Edmunds join them is another significant loss for this group, as the linebacker has been serving as an anchor in the middle of their defense during his first year with the team.

Edmunds joined Big Blue on a three-year deal in free agency this offseason.

He had played all 380 defensive snaps to this point, racking up team-leading 50 tackles, three QB hits, and a pair of sacks over the first six games of the season.

The 28-year-old was also tremendous in coverage and was a leader on that side of the ball, playing a big role in rookie linebacker Arvell Reese's smooth transition to the NFL.

With him sidelined, Big Blue will push Micah McFadden back into a starting role.
