Giants’ Cam Skattebo Fumes After Being Left Bloodied By Controversial Facemask No-call

Cam Skattebo was irate.

The Giants’ running back was stuffed on a 3rd-and-2 play in the second quarter of Big Blue’s 28-20 Week 1 win over the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.

On the play, Skattebo’s facemask was grabbed by former Jet Quinnen Williams, and his head snapped back. No flag was thrown.

Skattebo yelled at the officials for missing the call. It forced the lone Giants’ punt of the first half.

Skattebo was held to 17 yards rushing on six carries in the opening half, but that did include a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

He was untouched and backflipped once crossing the goal line.

His flips have been a topic of debate, after he landed awkwardly on his surgically repaired right ankle during an appearance at Fanatics Fest. Head coach John Harbaugh spoke with Skattebo about it.

“Yeah, I mean, obviously I do some dumb things here and there, but I learn from it,’’ Skattebo said during training camp. “My coach talked to me, told me how he felt, and I learned from it. And will I go do that backflip again? Probably not. We live and we learn, and we move on.’’

He did one on Sunday night. But at least it came after he scored points.
