How Steph Curry made more NBA scoring history in Warriors' loss to Clippers originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

Even in defeat, Steph Curry continued climbing the NBA leaderboards.

During the Warriors’ 115-110 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, Curry passed Lakers Legend and NBA Hall of Famer Jerry West for 25th on the NBA’s all-time made field goals list.

Curry entered the night needing seven made shots to surpass West and did exactly that, finishing with 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting while adding another milestone to his legendary résumé.

The historic achievement came in a frustrating result for Golden State, however, as the Warriors dropped their regular-season finale and now must face the Clippers again Wednesday in a win-or-go-home NBA play-in tournament matchup.

Curry’s scoring kept Golden State competitive throughout the night, but the Warriors received little offensive support behind him. The rest of the starting lineup combined to shoot just 9 of 29 from the field, continuing a troubling trend as the postseason begins.

Still, with another chapter of history written, Curry now heads into Wednesday’s elimination game with a chance to add to his legacy yet again.

But for the Warriors, they will need much more than history from No. 30 if they want their season to continue.
