LONDON, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 11: Jalyx Hunt of the Philadelphia Eagles sustains an injury in an attempt to recover a fumble by Bhayshul Tuten of the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2026 NFL London Games match between Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 11, 2026 in London, England. Things went from bad to worse for the Eagles defense. Just after they were able to make an impressive stop to keep the Jaguars from tying the game before halftime, Jalyx Hunt suffered an injury to his left ankle and knee, and was later listed as questionable to return after halftime. Ultimately, he was then ruled out, and was seen leaving the locker room after the game in a walking boot.

Hunt refused to take the cart to the locker room, which was encouraging, but he was clearly in a lot of pain as he was helped inside. It still seems unlikely he returns on Sunday, but hopefully it’s not something that will keep him out long term. Aside from Hunts physicality and skill, he also always brings the energy and is an important piece of what the defense does.

For many reasons this is not great, but the lack of depth is astounding. Jonathan Greenard being inactive was a game-time decision, and the team also lost LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., who was ejected in the early seconds of the game.

With Hunt out, the Eagles have three healthy edge rushers remaining: Nolan Smith, Arnold Ebiketie, and A.J. Epenesa.
