Jauan Jennings Signing One-year Contract With Vikings Worth Up To $13 Million

Jauan Jennings #15 of the San Francisco 49ers warms up prior to an NFL divisional playoff football game against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on January 17, 2026 in Seattle, Washington.

Jauan Jennings is headed up north next season.

The wide receiver inked a one-year, $13 million deal with the Vikings on Thursday, ESPN reported.

Acquiring Jennings fills a hole for Minnesota, as Jalen Nailor signed a three-year deal worth $35 million with the Raiders in March and Adam Thielen retired following last season.

The deal gives the Vikings a No. 3 receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Jennings, 28, is coming off of his fifth NFL season after being drafted by the 49ers in the seventh round of the 2020 draft.

Despite battling through rib, shoulder and ankle issues last year, Jennings played in 15 games for San Francisco, racking up 643 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

The Vikings finished last season with a disappointing 9-8 record to follow up a dominant 14-3 season in 2024.

Just days after the season’s conclusion, Minnesota fired general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in what was reportedly an ugly exit, with ESPN reporting there was “tension” around the team.

Vikings owner Mark Wilf explained to reporters that that Adofo-Mensah’s firing was “not about any one decision or move” but instead an overall look of the franchise.

“This is a critical offseason,” Wilf said in January. “Ultimately, we felt the change was necessary in football operations and did not feel comfortable going forward into this offseason with the current leadership. It’s not about any one decision or move.

“We looked at the situation cumulatively. We just didn’t feel confident going through the entirety of the offseason, an additional draft, with this structure. We have an urgency to create a winning football team and establish sustainable success for our fans. At the same time, we balance that urgency with all decisions thoroughly and methodically.”

Minnesota has yet to land a new general manager, with executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski leading the team’s decisions throughout the offseason.

The team has requested interviews with 49ers assistant GM RJ Gillen and Titans assistant GM Dave Ziegler, per Schefter.

As the offseason continues, the Vikings will want to receive an answer on their general manager opening sooner rather than later.
