Jets Dismiss Breece Hall Trade Rumors: 'breece Will Still Be Here'

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said the team is not interested in discussing moving running back Breece Hall ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

“Breece is still a part of this team,” Glenn said in Monday morning’s news conference following the Jets’ 38-33 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, dropping their record to 2-6 on the season.

“I understand how the noise happens when things like this happens,” the head coach continued. “But I've said it before: We're in the business of keeping good players.

“And he's one of our better players, so Breece will still be here."

Asked in a follow-up if there would be any scenario that would see the running back dealt, Glenn repeated himself, “We’re in the process of keeping good players.”

The question on Hall, who missed his fifth straight game Sunday with a quad injury, comes after Braelon Allen had yet another fine performance. Allen rushed for 147 yards on 21 carries (7.0 yards per rush) with a touchdown in the defeat to Las Vegas. He now has 504 yards on 94 carries (5.4 average) with two scores in Hall's absence.

Hall, who signed a three-year, $45.75 million extension with New York in May, fed the trade rumor mill with some timely cryptic social media posts before the running back deactivated his account.

Despite the speculation, SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes reported that the Jets, at this time, have not had any serious internal discussions about moving Hall, whom they see as forming one of the NFL’s best running back duos when paired with Allen.

The expectation is the Jets will not be active in dealing players away ahead of next Tuesday’s deadline, unlike a year ago when Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams were dealt.

In addition to Hall, the team has expressed no interest in dealing star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who said last week that he wanted to remain with the organization and would not request a trade.
