Jonathan Kuminga has been by Moses Moody’s side nearly every step of the way throughout their five-year NBA careers.

That is, until recently, when Kuminga was traded from the Warriors to the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 5, officially ending a difficult career in Golden State that began with the Warriors selecting both he and Moody with picks No. 7 and 14 in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Despite no longer being teammates, Kuminga, in a post on Threads, was one of many NBA players who reacted to Moody’s gruesome knee injury in Golden State’s 137-131 overtime win vs. the Dallas Mavericks on Monday at American Airlines Center.

Kuminga and Moody were the Warriors’ two lottery selections nearly five years ago that were supposed to lead Golden State’s next young core. While both have showed flashes of their sky-high potential over the years, neither have developed into star players, with Kuminga especially struggling to earn consistent playing time in coach Steve Kerr’s rotations, which led to him being dealt to Atlanta.

It now appears the Warriors will be without both for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season.
