Josh Allen Earns Award For Spectacular Week 2 Performance Vs. Li

Josh Allen now has two more AFC Offensive Player of the Week awards than his jersey number.

After five total touchdowns and 317 total yards in the 41-31 win over the Lions in Week 2, he earned the most prestigious individual weekly award in the conference:

Doing my simple math here, as alluded to in the lede sentence, this was the 19th AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor to date in Allen’s NFL career. And he may have done it while under the weather. Unreal.

Per the Bills’ PR team:

“Allen trails only Tom Brady (32), Peyton Manning (27) and Drew Brees (25) for the most player of the week awards all-time.”

Frankly, it was somewhat surprising Allen didn’t win the award after the performance he put on display against the Texans in Houston in Week 1. But now he’s one of these awards away from 20 in a Bills uniform.

Ironically, the AFC Defensive Player of the Week is Raiders cornerback Hezekiah Masses, whom intercepted Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert twice in Las Vegas’ Week 2 win.
