Josh Allen Overtakes Jim Kelly For Most Touchdown Passes In Bills History

Josh Allen became the Buffalo Bills' all-time leader in touchdown passes in Sunday's 36-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Allen took the top spot on the franchise's list with an 11-yard throw to DJ Moore early in the fourth quarter, which extended Buffalo's lead to 29-10. It was the second time the pair have connected for a touchdown since the Bills acquired Moore via a trade with the Chicago Bears in March.

With 259 career touchdown passes, Allen passed Bills legend and Hall of Famer Jim Kelly in combined regular-season and postseason scoring passes. He reached the mark in 150 games, while Kelly got his 258 touchdown passes in 177 career appearances.

Kelly is still on top of the franchise's all-time list in touchdown passes thrown during the regular season with 237. But Allen is closing in with 231, adding a 23-yard scoring pass to Dalton Kincaid late in the fourth quarter Sunday.

Kelly also has 17 postseason touchdown passes compared to Allen's 29. Yet the Bills' current QB has played 15 postseason games in his career, while Kelly appeared in 17 playoff games in his 11 NFL seasons.

Buffalo has 10 more games on the 2026-27 schedule. And at 6-1, the Bills appear to be on their way to an eighth consecutive playoff berth.

Allen has more potential opportunities to add to his career TD pass total with the NFL's current postseason format. The playoffs now include 14 teams (compared to 12 when Kelly played), more wild-card games and only one team receiving a bye into the divisional round. (The top two seeds in each conference received a bye before the playoff field was expanded in 2020.)
