“Kommunity Fitness is differentiated by design and by purpose,” Gray said of his appointment.
The programming, the studio environment, and the sense of community are already strong. My focus is to ensure that as we launch in the U.S. and begin franchising, we put the right systems, support and standards in place so franchise partners can scale confidently while delivering a premium member experience in every market.”

Kommunity’s offering revolves around several 50-minute circuit-style classes, featuring a combination of in-studio and on-screen instructors. Each class varies in focus, with offerings including:

  • K-Strength: Heavy weightlifting and power building with fewer, high-quality reps and longer rest periods for foundational and compound movements
  • K-Endurance: Longer cardio intervals on the bike, rower, treadmill and ski erg, paired with lighter weights to work on muscular endurance
  • K-HIIT: Fast-paced total body workouts to build speed, power and agility through higher tempos, quick transitions, moderate weights and minimal rest
  • K-Game Day: Team and partner challenges for speed, strength and conditioning
  • K-Tenz: Event-style, hybrid training inspired by Hyrox/Tenz races, with movements like sled pushes and pulls, structured runs, erg intervals, carries and strength stations.

The brand currently operates two studios in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In his new position, Gray is aiming to take Kommunity to the next level as it looks to build an American membership base. He brings nearly 30 years of experience scaling premium fitness brands. with specific knowledge of early-stage franchising, franchisee support and international expansion in markets like Mexico and Australia.

“Kommunity has all the hallmarks of an enduring brand — exceptional programming, a beautiful studio experience and a mission rooted in real human connection,” said the brand’s CEO Aaron Keay,. “As we bring Kommunity to the U.S. and begin franchising, Mike’s experience scaling brands domestically and internationally gives us confidence that we’re building this the right way from day one.”
