It didn’t take long for Kristaps Porziņģis to feel at home with the Warriors.

After Golden State’s 131-126 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday night at Chase Center, Porziņģis described his transition as “seamless,” pointing to the team’s chemistry and balance of veterans and young players.

“I just came in, and we have a bunch of older guys, we also have some young guys that I was able to connect right away with,” Porziņģis said postgame. “It’s a fun team. Yeah, it’s been seamless, honestly. So I’m happy I’m here.”

The performance backed it up.

Porziņģis led the Warriors with 28 points in 29 minutes, adding eight rebounds and three assists as Golden State secured its third consecutive win.

The Warriors acquired Porziņģis in a trade that sent Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks, Porziņģis’ start in Golden State hasn’t been entirely smooth. He missed significant time due to illness and has continued to deal with lingering physical setbacks, delaying his ability to fully integrate into the lineup.

But when available, his impact has been immediate.

He jump-started the Warriors’ offense early Friday, scoring the team’s first 11 points and later delivering in the fourth quarter to help close out the win.

Golden State’s three-game win streak — its first in more than two months — has coincided with Porziņģis finding his rhythm, even as the team continues to battle inconsistency.

Still, the level of competition is about to rise.

After beating three teams outside the playoff picture, the Warriors now face a tougher stretch against postseason contenders — a test that could reveal whether their recent momentum is sustainable.

For now, though, Porziņģis’ presence is giving the Warriors exactly what they needed: scoring, size and a player who fits in quickly.

And by his own account, that adjustment already feels complete.
