Line Combinations: Red Wings Vs Blackhawks

Card image cap

On Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings will look to maintain their recent momentum, having won four of their last six games, as they face a Chicago Blackhawks team that has also shown signs of improvement with three victories over its last six contests.

Detroit enters the matchup as the favorite, while Chicago continues to navigate a rebuilding process that has produced a league-worst 159-262-57 record since the start of the 2020-21 season. The Blackhawks have struggled again this year, posting a 4-8-0 record while averaging just 2.17 goals per game, the second-lowest mark in the NHL.

Detroit has experienced offensive challenges of its own, averaging 2.58 goals per game, which ranks as the league's sixth-worst total. Nevertheless, Thursday's matchup presents an opportunity for the Red Wings to take care of business with six wins in their last seven meetings with the Blackhawks.
