Lions Hc Says Bijan Robinson Extension Could Help Jahmyr Gibbs Negotiations

Could Bijan Robinson's extension with the Atlanta Falcons help the Detroit Lions reach a deal with running back Jahmyr Gibbs?

Lions head coach Dan Campbell thinks it might.

Asked by a reporter on Tuesday, Aug. 4 about whether the Robinson deal would "speed up this process" to negotiate a deal with Gibbs, Campbell said, "I think it's certainly not gonna hurt. But we'll see."

Gibbs has been holding in at Lions' training camp as he waits a long-term extension, meaning he's present at camp but refusing to participate in on-field drills. It's the same strategy Robinson used before signing his three-year, $66.75 million deal and setting an NFL record for running backs in the process.
