Malik Nabers Not Expected To Be Placed On Pup List In Huge Giants Boost

The Giants placed three players on the physically unable to perform list, but none is the biggest playmaker on the offense.

While receiver Malik Nabers is not expected to be put on PUP, The Post confirmed, tight end Thomas Fidone II, and defensive tackles Roy Robertson-Harris and Sam Roberts will be out to start training camp next Tuesday in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.

Fidone was sidelined at the end of his rookie season due to a foot injury. He needed a “cleanup” procedure in June, per head coach John Harbaugh, that kept him out of most of the spring.

Robertson-Harris, a projected starter, suffered a torn Achilles during OTAs on May 21, but the Giants are hoping he can defy the odds and return before the end of the regular season, so he is on PUP rather than injured reserve, which would end his season. 

Roberts, who signed a minimum free-agent contract, was limited to five games with the Falcons last season by a knee injury, and he did not participate in the spring due to offseason surgery.

Rookies reported to East Rutherford for physicals Thursday and will be joined next week by the veterans before a team flight to remote training camp.

Nabers is still recovering from two surgeries to repair the torn ACL and torn meniscus in his right knee from last Sept. 28. 

He is expected to be eased into camp. Once he practices, he is no longer eligible for PUP if he suffers a setback.

If any player is on PUP on Aug. 28 when roster cuts happen, then the player is required to miss the first four games of the regular season.
