Max Kellerman Exposes ‘lazy’ Luka Doncic’s Alleged Trick To Avoid Playing Defense
Nobody can deny that Lakers star guard Luka Dončić is one of the NBA’s best offensive players.
Dončić’s defense doesn’t earn the same acclaim.
Max Kellerman did not mince words about this during a recent episode of his “Game Over Podcast” with Rich Paul.
“Do you know why Luka Dončić complains to the refs on every offensive possession? It’s very obvious: Because if you’re complaining to the refs, you don’t have to run back down the floor on defense! And that’s the No. 1 reason he’s a bad defensive player. It’s No. 1,” Kellerman said.
“Beyond not moving his feet, and everything. It’s 5-on-4 on the other end of the floor because he thinks he’s being slick, complaining as though everyone can’t see!” Kellerman, who was wearing a Knicks jersey while making these comments, continued.
“No, you’re just being lazy! Get up and run your a– back on defense,” he added.
Lakers fans know there’s some truth to these comments, as Dončić has earned a reputation of often arguing with referees.
And while the Slovenian superstar often has a fair case, his gripe often bleeding into playing defense does Los Angeles harm.
Perhaps Dončić can prove Kellerman wrong when the Lakers take on the Warriors on Friday night.
