Maxx Crosby sees the trade rumors.

After all, it's impossible not to. The Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher remains the topic of trade talk, even after an offseason trade to the Baltimore Ravens fell apart. The rumors were ignited again this week after Jerry Jones expressed a willingness to trade a premium draft pick for an impact player if it helped the Cowboys win.

Crosby spoke with USA TODAY Sports' Jarrett Bell in an exclusive interview about how he handles the outside noise, especially when TV sports shows like ESPN's "First Take" spend the day debating his future. Crosby said he saw the show discussing a possible trade to the Cowboys while he was at the Raiders' training camp facility getting treatment for his injured knee.

“It doesn’t change anything for me, to be honest,” Crosby insisted. “People act like they don’t…if you’re an athlete in this position, you see everything. Regardless, if you want to or not. You can try to live in a cage, but then your teammate is coming up to you, ‘How do you deal with it?’Crosby said he saw the ESPN show hosts discussing a possible trade to the Cowboys while he was at the Raiders' training camp facility getting treatment for his injured knee.

“I’m getting rehab, the first thing this morning, and all my teammates are looking at it and I’m trying to ignore it. But ultimately, you just have to learn to roll with the punches. I’ve gone through a lot in my personal life, a lot in my football life. So, (stuff) like that is nothing. If the child version of me was looking at Stephen A. Smith talking about, ‘Is this dude the guy to come win you a Super Bowl?’ like I think that’s cool.

"Whether it’s made up or not. They wouldn’t be talking about you if you weren’t doing something right. And I know what I bring to the table as a player, and as a leader, and as a worker. I want to be here. Everyone knows that. So, you can’t let any of that (stuff) get into your head or let it distract you.”

Many were quick to jump on Jones' comments and make it about Crosby – and for good reason.

The Cowboys have always been enamored with the stars underneath the star logo on their helmet. And Crosby grew up in Colleyville, Texas, just outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

It would represent a homecoming for one of the league's best pass-rushers, but also a true replacement for Micah Parsons – who the Cowboys dealt to the Green Bay Packers in a blockbuster ahead of the 2025 season.

For now, Crosby is preparing to begin his eighth NFL season with the silver-and-black.
