Mets Call Up Chris Devenski, Option Xzavion Curry
The Mets have called up right-handed pitcher Chris Devenski from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned fellow right-handed pitcher Xzavion Curry to Syracuse. And to make room for Devenski, the team transferred Jorge Polanco to the 60-day injured list, as the veteran recently underwent season-ending surgery on his ankle.
Devenski has made just three appearances in the big leagues so far this season, all of which came with the Pirates. Having been released by Pittsburgh earlier this month, he signed with the Mets, and he’s a familiar face, as he spent the entirety of his 2025 season pitching in the organization, splitting his time between Syracuse and Queens. He has a 1.13 ERA and a 2.91 FIP in 24.0 innings in Triple-A this year.
Curry was just called up by the Mets yesterday, and he threw 2.1 innings in the team’s blowout loss to the Brewers last night. He now has a 3.44 ERA and a 5.38 FIP in 18.1 innings with the Mets this season, and he’s been called up and optioned several times over the course of the past few months.
