Warriors guard Moses Moody had quite the homecoming moment after Golden State’s 133-112 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Little Rock native grew up just two hours away from Memphis and a number of Moody’s family members took the trip to FedExForum on Wednesday to see him play.

Moody shared an emotional moment he had with his uncle following his 14-point performance against the Grizzlies.

“I love it,” Moody told reporters on Wednesday after the game. “I looked up and saw my uncle Ron Ron with my jersey on in the stands at the end of the game there.

“When you’ve been in the NBA and you’ve got a different point in your journey, you don’t often look back. Same thing with family. Seeing my uncle, whose house I grew up going to while we’re out on Easter with everybody running around the house, and to look up [during] an NBA game and to see him in the stands, that’s cool.”

The 23-year-old attended Parkview High School in Little Rock and North Little Rock High School before transferring to Montverde Academy in Florida, where he was teammates with Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham and Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes.

Moody then played collegiate basketball at Arkansas in his home state before being selected by the Warriors 14th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.

During the 2025-26 NBA season, Moody finally has shown some consistency in his game, averaging 12.0 points per game and shooting 40.5 percent from 3-point range in 57 games with 46 starts.

Moody has been a constant contributor in the Warriors’ rotation this season, averaging a career-high 25.5 minutes per game. Especially with players such as Steph Curry and Kristaps Porzingis missing games, Moody has stepped up and delivered as Golden State continues to make its push for the playoffs.

After an emotional homecoming and an impressive win over the Grizzlies, Moody will look to carry the momentum over to Saturday as the Warriors gear up to face the Los Angeles Lakers back home at Chase Center.
