On May 26, Greg Finberg wrote a 2026 NBA mock draft roundup on which prospect will be going No. 1 to the Washington Wizards. Today is June 22, the day before the real thing. And we gotta update it. So let’s update this mock draft roundup!

  • Bleav in Wizards and Bullets Forever — AJ Dybantsa, BYU. Matt Modderno and Kevin Broom spoke at length about why this was a hard decision. But Dybantsa is the guy!

Well, since May, nothing changed, with the exception of Sam Harper having a “chaos draft” on The Athletic that would make Ricky O’Donnell happy. O’Donnell wrote in his mock draft on SBNation.com that Boozer is his personal favorite for No. 1. But ultimately, Dybantsa is still the unanimous winner in all official mock drafts.

Either way you look at it, now that the Wizards have the No. 1 pick, the FanDuel odds have them moving up in the standings in terms of NBA championship and Eastern Conference championship odds. Hopefully soon after Dybantsa is wearing that Wizards cap on Tuesday, we’ll also see the Wizards compete for a postseason berth.
