New York Jets Add 'white Out' Helmet Design, The Fifth In Their Closet

The New York Jets won't lead the NFL in wins in 2026, but they just might lead the league in helmets.

The NYJ revealed a new white helmet on Tuesday, July 21, which is basically the obverse of their standard helmet − mainly white with the team's primary logo in green. The typical white facemask remains and a green stripe was added down dome's the centerline. The Jets have long used white helmets throughout their 66-year existence but never with the current logo, which was introduced in its initial form in 1978, phased out in 1998 and restored as the primary insignia in 2024.

The Jets signaled the rollout of their "White Out" look for their home opener against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 20.

How many different helmets do the Jets have?

The "White Out" helmet will be the fifth in their closet. In addition, the Jets have their primary green helmets with the white logo; a black matte alternate with a green logo and facemask; a classic helmet with their old logo as a nod to the team's only Super Bowl win following the 1968 season; and the charcoal-colored version that debuted with their "Gotham City Football Club" Nike "Rivalries" uniforms last season.
