Nfl.com Mocks ‘explosive Matchup Piece’ To Rams At No. 13

The Los Angeles Rams already have one of the deepest tight end rooms in the league, which NFL.com strengthened in its latest mock draft.

NFL analyst Mike Band mocked tight end and “explosive matchup piece” Kenyon Sadiq to the Rams with the 13th overall pick in his March 27 piece:

“Les Snead’s whole offseason philosophy is to use free agency so the Rams aren’t desperate on draft night, which makes a true weapon pick feel very on brand here. After building the league’s most TE-driven offense in 2025 with a 30.5% 13 personnel rate, per Next Gen Stats, Los Angeles can double down with Sadiq, an explosive matchup piece who ran a 4.39 40, the fastest by a combine tight end since at least 2003.”

L.A. decided to bring back veteran Tyler Higbee for an 11th season this offseason. Plus, the team already has Colby Parkinson and second-year playmaker Terrance Ferguson on the roster. It’s crazy to think the Rams would double-dip with another Oregon tight end after selecting Ferguson a year ago, but Sadiq would be an excellent addition to the offense.

Sadiq is a freakish athlete, as evidenced by his blazing 40-yard dash time. Now, speed isn’t everything, yet Sadiq can do just about anything he wants on the field. He amassed 80 receptions for 892 yards and nine touchdowns in his 42 career games with the Ducks. Oregon also sparingly used him in the running game, where he added 42 yards on nine carries.

You’d have to think that Sean McVay would be salivating at the chance to move Sadiq around as he pleases. The tight end definitely has plenty of flexibility to work with. In general, the Rams can do almost anything they want to with the No. 13 pick, given they have few roster holes to address. Meaning, they can afford to snag a luxury weapon piece with the selection.

Tight end is not a position where the cupboard is bare for Los Angeles, considering the team has one of the NFL’s deepest rooms. However, adding an “explosive” player to the offense like Sadiq could help push the unit over the top come playoff time.
