Nfl Week 2 Odds: Bears Open As A Favorite Over Vikings
The Chicago Bears were one of ten teams to score over 30 points in Week 1, which is tied for the third-most in NFL history. One of the other teams to do so was Chicago’s next opponent, the Minnesota Vikings. The Bears opened up with a 59-39 road win over the Carolina Panthers, while the Vikings beat the Green Bay Packers 39-22 at home in the dome.
Chicago’s game was historic, as the 96 combined points are the most points ever scored in a season-opening game in League history. That might have something to do with the early over/under for their Week 2 game against the Vikings opening up at 48.5 points. Our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook also have the Bears favored by 5.5 points for the home opener at Soldier Field.
The Bears came out of Week 1 relatively healthy, but the Vikings lost starting quarterback Kyler Murray to a concussion in the first quarter. Backup Carson Wentz came in and was 12 of 19 for 133 yards, with 3 touchdown passes and a passer rating of 123.5. Pro Bowl wideout Justin Jefferson made the biggest offensive impact with 8 receptions for 92 yards and 2 scores, but Minnesota’s defense had 4 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery.
Chicago’s offense racked up 552 yards, and while their defense allowed 478 yards, the Bears also picked up three takeaways.
