Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni was asked to reflect on his four years working with A.J. Brown just over a week after the veteran receiver was traded to the New England Patriots.

Sirianni had nothing but positive feelings about Brown's tenure with the Eagles, as he communicated to reporters at a June 9 media availability.

"I would say there was a lot of good years," Sirianni said when asked about Brown's tenure in Philadelphia. "Done a lot of good things with A.J. here. Two times in the Super Bowl. I think he was All-Pro multiple times. Pro Bowl multiple times. So, I would say it was a good run."

Brown's four-season run with the Eagles was impressive. He never failed to log at least 1,000 receiving yards in a season and finished his time with the team posting 339 catches for 5,034 receiving yards and 32 receiving touchdowns.

Brown also helped the Eagles win Super Bowl 59 over the Kansas City Chiefs, was named an All-Pro second-team selection three times and even tied for ninth in NFL MVP voting in 2022.

But ultimately, Sirianni and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman mutually decided it would be in the team's best interest to trade Brown, netting a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round selection.

"Howie and I discuss everything. We talk through everything," Sirianni said. "So many things that (Brown) did (were) good for our football team and always will wish him the best of luck. But like I said, really excited about the guys in that room and where we are."

"This is a team game," Sirianni added. "In every decision that I make and the decisions that Howie makes, we talk to each other about it."

A.J. BROWN TRADE GRADES: Did Eagles or Patriots win blockbuster deal?

With the Eagles transitioning into their post-Brown era, Sirianni acknowledged he is "really excited" about the team's retooled receiver room and paid compliments to many of the team's new additions.

Notably, Sirianni expressed enthusiasm about the team's first-round pick, Makai Lemon, and the strides he has made as he prepares for his rookie season.

"Just his ability to catch the ball, his toughness – I think that's a great addition to that room," Sirianni said of Lemon.

Sirianni seemed similarly bullish about Dontayvion Wicks. He compared the trade acquisition to Keenan Allen, whom Sirianni coached across five seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

"I just think he has a very unique skill set of being able to get in and out of breaks and be really efficient at the line of scrimmage," Sirianni said of Wicks.

Sirianni further praised a couple of Philadelphia's veteran depth signings. He noted Hollywood Brown "great, great speed and excellent hands," while calling Elijah Moore "so quick at the top of his route."

But above all else, Sirianni is looking forward to seeing DeVonta Smith get a chance to be the team's No. 1 receiver after the 2021 first-round pick enjoyed "a really good offseason."

"He's had five good years of being an Eagle," Sirianni said of Smith. "Very, very productive and excited that he's gonna get extra opportunities."
