Recently, Keldon Johnson, the longest tenured member of the San Antonio Spurs, moved into fourth all-time for the franchise in points scored off the bench.

Keldon is now among Spurs royalty — Manu leads the franchise with 8278. Patty Mills is second all-time totaling 5540. KJ’s next milestone is passing Malik Rose’s 3272. Rose came off the bench in more than twice the amount of games Johnson has played. Johnson is on pace for an impressive future with the Silver & Black.

Keldon’s numbers are so impressive, that Spurs Muse made this comparison.

In 7 seasons as a Spur:

Keldon — Kawhi —
6,591 PTS 6,654 PTS
2,345 REB 2,511 REB
882 AST 924 AST

When taking in these stas, one must note that although Kawhi Leonard played seven seasons for the Spurs, in his seventh and final season he participated in only nine games.

Truth is Keldon has more than thirty games on Leonard, so take the comparison or leave it.

Speaking of The Klaw, there is a cool tie to Carter Bryant.

Here’s a cool detail most Spurs fans might not realize about Carter Bryant.

As I’ve been saying for months, the Spurs have big plans for him, and part of that comes from the similarities he shares with Kawhi Leonard. What’s fascinating is that both players were actually coached… pic.twitter.com/12pJITHIEg

Both Kawhi and Carter were coached by Bryant’s father D’Ceon.

For Carter Bryant, playing against Kawhi Loenard was a big moment for him. Shining in that first match against the Clippers brought his mission into focus. Bryant sees himself as a defensive stalwart, and considering he and Leaonrd were taught defensive skills by the same man is vote of confidence for the former Wildcat’s future.

Unfortunately, Leonard was not available for last night’s game. The Spurs pulled off a nail-biter. We now await the third and final meeting the regular season on April 2nd, back in Los Angeles.

The Spurs stop off in Sacramento tonight to face the Kings before heading home for two games.
