Patriots Make Change At Defensive Tackle, Activate Rb Terrell Jennings

The New England Patriots returned to practice on Monday for their eighth session of training camp, and they did so with a slightly different-looking roster.

Along the defensive line, new free agent signing Casey Rogers was present to take the place — and jersey number — of David Blay Jr. Meanwhile, running back Terrell Jennings made his practice debut in a limited capacity after being activated from the non-football injury list.

Rogers, 27, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent in 2024. The Oregon product started his career with the Giants, for whom he appeared in three games over two separate stints. He also spent time with the Bills. Most recently, the 6-foot-4, 294-pound defensive tackle was with the UFL’s DC Defenders.

Blay Jr, 23, spent his college career at West Chester, Louisiana Tech and Miami. He was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in early May, following a successful workout at the team’s rookie minicamp.

Jennings, 25, arrived in New England as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He has since appeared in 10 games, registering a combined 37 carries and receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. The 6-foot-0, 222-pound back was one of three Patriots to begin training camp on injured reserve, joining safety Brenden Schooler and since-activated edge defender Gabe Jacas.

The Patriots held their eighth practice of training camp on Monday. Due to inclement weather, the session was moved indoors and therefore unable to accommodate any fans.
