Patriots Vs. Jets Live Updates: Score, News, Discussion For Nfl Week 6
Coming off their most dominant win of the season, the New England Patriots (3-2) are now looking to extend their win streak to three. Standing between them and that goal is a familiar opponent: the New York Jets (2-3), who themselves are entering Week 6 off a victory.
From that perspective, the setup seems perfect for a highly-contested game. That said, the Patriots are clear favorites at home: not only have they looked like one of the best teams in the NFL the last two weeks, they also have gotten some significant reinforcements lately.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown is back off injured reserve, while cornerback Christian Gonzalez is making his comeback from a two-game absence. Add the fact that left tackle Will Campbell and running back TreVeyon Henderson have both been cleared for the contest as well, and you can see why the home team earning a third straight W is the projected outcome.
Will the Patriots indeed be able to do so, however? Let’s find out together. Welcome to our Patriots-Jets live tracker and community discussion.

First Quarter
Winning the coin toss, the Patriots started the game on defense — and slowly. The unit gave up first-down pass plays to tight ends Mason Taylor and wide receiver Garrett Wilson before some runs by Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis brought the Jets into the New England red zone. The drive eventually stalled, but the visitors still took a 3-0 lead on a 42-yard field goal. | Patriots 0 : 3 Jets
A.J. Brown was part of the Patriots’ offensive starting lineup, and the target of Drake Maye’s first pass attempt. However, the throw was batted at the line of scrimmage to end the team’s first possession in a three-and-out fashion.
After giving up a field goal on its first drive, the Patriots defense rebounded in style. A short run was followed by back-to-back sacks: first up was MiltonWilliams with his first sack of the season; on the very next snap, Christian Barmore ran over Jets right guard Joe Tippman to get to Geno Smith and force a punt. The defensive effort plus a 10-yard Marcus Jones punt return, plus a penalty against New York, allowed the home team to set up shop at the opponent’s 42-yard line.
The Patriots opened their second possession with a short pass to A.J. Brown that was ruled incomplete after a Jets challenge. The very next play was more successful: a well-protected Drake Maye took a deep shot to Romeo Doubs, who hauled the ball in for a 42-yard touchdown. | Patriots 7 : 3 Jets

New England’s run defense showed some significant holes on the Jets’ next possession, allowing three first-down runs to Braelon Allen to get into Patriots territory. They set up a 3rd-and-4 before time ran out on the first quarter.
Second quarter
Just like on their first drive, the Jets ran out of steam once in Patriots territory. This time, the series came to an end on a fourth-down stop: Robert Spillane met Braelon Allen in the hole on a 4th-and-2, giving up just 1 yard to prevent the conversion and generate the turnover on downs.
The Patriots started with three straight Rhamondre Stevenson runs before almost hitting A.J. Brown for another big play. Instead of a chunk gain, however, the Patriots eventually had to settle for a punt. It was a good one, though, with Mitch Wishnowsky’s 54-yarder pinning the Jets at their 3-yard line.
New England’s defense continued to struggle containing Braelon Allen on the next drive. Two straight runs gave the Jets offense some breathing room, while he also gained a first down on a catch-and-run to get the team into New England territory. Once again, however, the defense held in that part of the field: the unit stuffed Geno Smith on a quarterback sneak on 4th-and-1 to force a second consecutive turnover on downs.
Fourth down continued to be a theme on the Patriots’ next drive. After failing to pick up a first down on their first three plays of the possession, Rhamondre Stevenson moved the chains on 4th-and-1 to get the unit into New York territory. A 12-yard Stevenson run plus a double pass to DeMario Douglas for 10 put the Patriots right at the edge of the red zone at the two-minute warning. Coming out of it, A.J. Brown caught his first pass of the day for a gain of 9 yards, but the pair failed to later connect on a 3rd-and-4. Andy Borregales subsequently split the uprights from 32 yards out to extend his team’s lead. | Patriots 10 : 3 Jets
After Borregales’ field goal, the Jets took possession with 1:46 left in the first half. A quick three-and-out took only 23 seconds off the clock, however, allowing New England to take over with a chance to add to their lead before the half. Mike Vrabel’s team did just that.
Drake Maye hit A.J. Brown and Hunter Henry twice to start the drive. He then connected with DeMario Douglas, whose 11-yard catch plus a 10-ard roughing the passer penalty brought the Patriots to the Jets’ 9-yard line. Maye took two straight incomplete shots into the end zone at that point — intended for Brown and Eli Raridon — with the third one seeing him hit Douglas for the touchdown. | Patriots 17 : 3 Jets
