New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson has (officially) been ruled out for Wednesday night’s season opener against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury.

The second-year explosive runner did not participate in Tuesday’s practice before the contest or in any of New England’s two prior sessions. Backup center Ben Brown was also ruled out Monday and did not travel with the team; Henderson did.

Here’s the final injury report ahead of the 8:20 p.m. ET Super Bowl LX rematch at Lumen Field.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

Patriots

  • RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle — out)
  • C Ben Brown (knee — out)

Seahawks

  • S Ty Okada (hamstring — out)

Henderson initially sustained the injury during practice on Aug. 24 and has since been sidelined for just under three weeks.

Without their 2025 second-round draft selection, the Patriots would be without an ever-present home-run threat in Henderson. Four of his 10 touchdown runs in 2025 spanned 50 or more yards.

Brown suffered a pre-season knee injury in a matchup with the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 13 after a Colts defender tackled quarterback Tommy DeVito into Brown’s leg.

“Ben is going to be a few weeks,” head coach Mike Vrabel said on Aug. 15, following the game. “Four-to-six, eight, 10, 12 [weeks]. Even numbers. But it will probably be extensive throughout the rest of the preseason for sure.”

Summer addition Greg Van Roten, with 105 career starts, slots in as the top interior backup.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Patriots

  • No players listed

Seahawks

  • WR Tory Horton (hamstring — questionable)
  • OT Josh Jones (knee — no game status)
  • S Nick Emmanwori (ankle — questionable)

The Patriots had no partial participants across three consecutive practices before flying to the West Coast.

On the other hand, the Seahawks listed three limited participants.

Designated as questionable for Wednesday night, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year finalist Nick Emmanwori has been restricted in practice all week thus far after starting his summer on the physically unable to perform list. The 2025 second-round pick underwent ankle surgery before training camp.

Dynamic kick returner and wide receiver Tory Horton has also remained limited with a hamstring injury and is questionable.

FULL PARTICIPATION

Patriots

  • DT Christian Barmore (knee — no game status)

Seahawks

  • RB Emanuel Wilson (hamstring — no game status)
  • TE A.J. Barner (oblique — no game status)
  • G Anthony Bradford (knee — no game status)
  • CB Julian Neal (quadricep — no game status)

Defensive anchor Christian Barmore stacked back-to-back days of full participation, managing a knee injury, after being designated as a non-participant on Sunday. The veteran logged 29 tackles, 11 quarterback hits and a pair of sacks last season while appearing in a career-high 16 contests for New England.

For Seattle, tight end A.J. Barner, who caught his team’s lone offensive touchdown in both squads’ previous championship matchup, continued his preparation as a full participant.
