BOSTON — Payton Pritchard exited in the third quarter of Tuesday’s game against Milwaukee with a right eye abrasion.

Pritchard tallied 10 points and 5 rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench before taking a hit to the face and heading to the locker room with trainer Drew Moore. The 28-year-old guard was previously listed as questionable to play with a right shoulder contusion, but was upgraded to available before tip-off. The Celtics outscored the Bucks by 7 points in his minutes.

The Celtics were otherwise fully healthy on Wednesday night. Jayson Tatum, however, missed his first game of the season to rest. Two-way player Devin Carter remains sidelined as he recovers from an illness he contracted during the preseason.

Payton Pritchard has struggled so far this season

Pritchard has averaged 13.4 points and 3.4 assists per game, shooting 40.3% from the field and 31% from three. He had his two best games against the Chicago Bulls; otherwise, he’s scored double-digit points only once more this season, with 17 against the Detroit Pistons.

After the Celtics’ 109-102 win over the Bucks, Joe Mazzulla provided a brief update on Pritchard.

“He’s okay,” he said. “I don’t know exactly what it is, but he got hit in the eye, hit in the head. Seems to be okay.”
