Puka Nacua Injury Update: What We Know After Rams Star Exits Joint Practice Early

Los Angeles Rams star receiver Puka Nacua left practice early with team trainer Reggie Scott on Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to multiple reports. Head coach Sean McVay told reporters he had no update and wasn't sure of the reason for Nacua's early exit.

The Rams were in the middle of a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys ahead of Saturday's preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nacua, 25, is entering his fourth NFL season and coming off a banner year in which he led the league with 129 receptions for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns and was named first team All-Pro for the first time in his career.

His offseason, however, has been marred by controversy.

Nacua was accused of biting a woman and making antisemitic remarks during a dinner on New Year's Eve, according to a civil lawsuit filed in March. Through his attorney, Nacua denied the allegations "in the strongest possible terms."

His attorney announced on April 1 that Nacua had entered rehab. McVay told USA TODAY Sports on April 21 that Nacua had completed his rehab.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier on Aug. 11 that Nacua could still face a suspension by the NFL.

For now, though, the Rams are hoping for good news on their star receiver's health.

Matthew Stafford reacts to Puka Nacua injury

Stafford, the NFL's reigning MVP, told ESPN's Lindsey Thiry that while he didn't see what happened to Nacua, he's hopeful about his WR1.

"I'm not really sure what the issue was, but nobody ran up to me in a panic," Stafford said. "So I don't think it was anything too major."
