Pure Barre Makes Play For Younger Fitness Consumers

The Xponential Fitness-owned barre brand is offering unlimited classes for students, with monthly pricing starting at $99

Pure Barre is looking to make boutique fitness more accessible to students.

The Xponential Fitness-owned barre brand has launched a Student Unlimited Membership, giving currently enrolled students unlimited classes at participating Pure Barre studios nationwide.

Monthly pricing ranges from $99 to $249 depending on the studio. Students must present a valid student ID when signing up, and memberships automatically renew month-to-month at the applicable student rate until canceled. Participation and pricing for the student membership can vary by studio.

The new membership gives Pure Barre a way to court younger consumers who may otherwise be priced out of boutique fitness, while positioning its studios as a “third space” for students balancing school and other demands.

“Pure Barre is perfect for students because it’s group fitness with a personal touch,” Pure Barre vice president of training and technique Michelle Ditto said. “You’re not just one person in a lecture hall; your Pure Barre teachers want to get to know you, and it’s a workout that graduates with you.”

Pure Barre offers five class formats spanning its signature barre workout, interval training, strength training and restorative stretching. Classes are generally 50 minutes and center on low-impact movements designed to build strength and endurance.

One Pure Barre member, Kasey Sipos, said the student membership has allowed her to continue attending classes while pursuing a doctorate in nurse anesthesia.

“I look forward to those 50 minutes of Pure Barre as a vital outlet during such a demanding time in my life,” Sipos said.
