Raiders 2026 Roster: Get To Know Taron Johnson
The Las Vegas Raiders have traded for veteran nickel cornerback Taron Johnson from the Buffalo Bills. They are sending the Bills a sixth-round pick and the Raiders get back a seventh-round pick for Johnson, who was being released. The Raiders are taking on his $8.6 million contract.

Size:
5-11, 192 pounds.
NFL experience:
He spent his entire eight season career with the Buffalo Bills. He has 87 career starts and had been considered an upper-level nickel cornerback. He was a second-team All-Pro in 2023. But his play did decline the past two seasons. He has dealt with injuries as he has missed, at least, four games in four of his eight NFL seasons. He has six career interceptions.
College:
The Sacramento native went to Weber State was drafted in the fourth round in 2018.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Johnson, 29, will be the Raiders’ slot cornerback and a big part of the new defense under coordinator Rob Leonard. The key is to make sure he stays healthy.
