Random Ramsdom: They’re All For The Draft Pick/trade Changes, Are You?
The Los Angeles Rams are apparently all for the idea of allowing a team to trade more draft picks than ever before, which is a current potential rule change that the NFL is discussing, but are you for it? Is this a change you can get behind?
I believe right now teams can trade picks within a three-year window, and this proposed change would allow for a 5-year window, which is truly a MAJOR change. Would the Rams benefit? Maybe.
This change, if it goes through, could truly open the door for the craziest, wildest and biggest trades in NFL history, so I understand the league wanting to open that door, on the other hand, I do worry that it’s too much. As in a team can be totally wrecked for years, but you could argue that happens now, so why not make the change?
Here’s what I know: It’s Friday. We made it. Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great day!
Los Angeles Rams sneakily endorse rule amendment that they are likely to take advantage of if it passes (atozsports)
“So it’s no surprise to learn that they would be interested in a policy that would allow them to get even more creative in making trades happen. On Wednesday, the NFL announced that there were only two proposal changes that will be considered by owners at the league meetings later this month.
One of those was submitted by the Cleveland Browns, who proposed allowing trades to include picks over a five-year span. Current rules allow teams to trade draft picks up to three years into the future. Rams’ team president Kevin Demoff took to Twitter to endorse the proposal.“
Rams 2026 draft: Ty Simpson would be a ‘J.J. McCarthy’ mistake (sports.yahoo.com)
“The best quarterback in the 2026 class is Fernando Mendoza, himself a prospect who may actually get a worse overall draft grade than J.J. McCarthy if they had been in the same class, but a foregone conclusion at the #1 pick because the Las Vegas Raiders literally have no other choice. If slapped into a class with Caleb Williams, Daniels, and Drake Maye, Mendoza would be an EASY pick for being no better than QB4.“
Rams Exec Rips Seahawks’ Controversial 2-Point Conversion After LA Withdrew Rule-Change Proposal (bleacherreport)
“Demoff made his feeling about the call clear, writing, “Withdrawn but not forgotten in today’s NFL you can pick up a ball after a play is whistled incomplete, turn around with it and walk back towards midfield and four minutes later have it count for two points.”
The play in question tied the game at 30-30 with 6:23 left in the fourth quarter, as Seattle overcame a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force OT.“
