Ravens Qb Tyler Huntley Reportedly Suffered Season-ending Turf Toe Injury After Replacing Lamar Jackson Vs. Bills

The Baltimore Ravens are now down their top two quarterbacks for the foreseeable future.

According to ESPN, the turf toe injury that backup quarterback Tyler Huntley suffered against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday is season-ending. Ravens coach Jesse Minter had announced Tuesday that No. 3 QB Joe Fagnano would start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Lamar Jackson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after suffering an injury to his thumb on his throwing hand on the first offensive play of the game in the loss to the Bills. Jackson needs surgery on his right thumb.

Huntley immediately replaced Jackson, but he suffered his turf toe injury before halftime and didn't return to the game. Before his injury, Huntley attempted just four passes.

Huntley made three starts in 2026 as Jackson was sidelined with an ankle injury. The Bills game was Jackson's first start since he suffered that ankle injury on Oct. 4 against the Tennessee Titans.

Fagnano is an undrafted rookie from UConn who took his first NFL regular-season snaps after taking over for Huntley. He was 10 of 21 for 91 yards and an interception. He practiced Tuesday with a brace on his right ankle after injuring that during the game.

Behind Fagnano, the Ravens signed former practice squad quarterback Austin Reed and also added Kedon Slovis to the roster with Jackson and Huntley out.

Huntley, 28, has been Jackson's primary backup for his entire career outside of spending the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins. Over six years with the Ravens, he's appeared in 30 games and made 14 starts, infamously making the 2022 Pro Bowl after appearing in six games that season.

Baltimore is now 4-4 after three straight losses and the absence of Jackson and Huntley could end up making their hopes of winning the AFC North disappear as every other team in the division is above .500. After playing Jacksonville this week, the Ravens host the Chargers on Monday Night Football.
