Rebels In The Pros: Nfl Cut Day Casualties
There are always two sides to every coin. While we celebrate our former Rebels who made the 53 man rosters, there are those that found themselves on the outside looking in. Many will land on practice squads keeping the dream in reach, while others may even get claimed (Kapena Gushiken).
This list is still changing as players might get picked up by other teams or decline practice squad invites, but here is the last list of players who did not make the initial 53 man roster out of camps:
Nick Broeker – Buffalo Bills (signed to practice squad)
Otis Reese – Buffalo Bills
John Saunders Jr. – New England Patriots
Ben Brown – New England Patriots
Daijahn Anthony – Cincinnati Bengals
Dae’Quan Wright – Cleveland Browns (eye roll)
Ulysses Bentley IV – Indianapolis Colts (signed to practice squad)
Trey Washington – Indianapolis Colts (signed to practice squad)
Benito Jones – Las Vegas Raiders (cut two weeks ahead of deadline)
Sam Williams – Dallas Cowboys
Chance Campbell – Philadelphia Eagles (signed to practice squad)
Deantre Prince – Chicago Bears
Juice Wells – Atlanta Falcons (signed to practice squad)
Caden Prieskorn – Carolina Panthers
Tre Wallace – Arizona Cardinals (signed to practice squad)
AJ Finley – Seattle Seahawks (signed to practice squad with veteran designation)
Chris Paul Jr. – Seattle Seahawks (IR)
Jared Ivey and Kapena Gushiken were also cut by their original teams, but picked up and put on 53 man rosters. This does not mean we won’t see these names in the NFL in the future, they just need a combination of hard work and opportunity to have that shot.
